Project Description

This is a policy paper and literature review on the state of the U.S. education workforce. It discusses issues related to teacher recruitment and retention, and implications for state and federal policy.

Key Findings

Researchers concluded that educators’ jobs need to be redesigned so their skill set matches their assigned tasks and the profession provides meaningful advancement pathways. State policies are needed to incentivize these transformations.
