Key Findings

Nearly nine in 10 voters (87 percent) agreed that afterschool programs are a necessity for communities, the highest level of support seen between 2003 and 2024. Support for afterschool programs was high across every demographic group, with high levels of support seen across the political spectrum, among rural, suburban, and urban voters, different racial/ethnic groups, and different ages. The large majority of respondents across the political spectrum support increasing funding for afterschool programs.
