Principal Investigator

Andrew Wayne & Sami Kitmitto – AIR

Project Description

This study evaluates the impact of Teaching Lab’s curriculum-based professional learning program on teacher practices and student ELA achievement. Conducted in partnership with a large urban school district, the study includes 52 schools and 140 teachers serving approximately 3,500 students in grades two through eight. Schools were randomly assigned to either receive Teaching Lab’s professional learning program or continue with business-as-usual supports. The intervention includes teacher professional development sessions, ongoing one-on-one coaching cycles, and principal-focused professional learning to support effective implementation of high-quality instructional materials. The study uses teacher surveys and district administrative data on student achievement to measure key outcomes.
