Brilliant provides interactive science, math, and computer science lessons, allowing students to chart their own journey through content that is interactive, mastery-based, and fun. Brilliant emphasizes logic and critical thinking while encouraging students to consider out-of-the-box approaches to problem-solving. The platform displays advanced STEM concepts visually, which helps engage students and builds their STEM knowledge in intuitive and unique ways.
Brilliant’s Open Access project, launched in 2020, provides low-income students with free access to the platform. Twenty-seven percent of Open Access student users are “deeply engaged,” spending more than five hours on the platform on average.
In 2021, Brilliant reached 4,625 low-income students through the Overdeck Family Foundation-supported Open Access Project.
